The official developer account said, “Twitter is enforcing long-standing API access rules. Because of this, some applications may not work. The message confirmed that the termination of third-party applications was caused intentionally, but otherwise the situation was almost not cleared up - the company did not clarify the rules that caused the blocking. If the company's management actually pursues some other goals, they remained unknown.

Earlier, one of the technical leaders of Twitter, in an interview with The Information journalists, confirmed that the blocking of third-party clients is intentional, but he also did not disclose the true reasons for these measures.
