Elon Musk has denied rumors about the reduction of Twitter staff to 1300 people - there are much more employees.
Some time ago, there were rumors that only 1,300 employees remained at Twitter. In fact, Twitter has significantly more staff, Elon Musk said in response to previously published information about the ongoing massive layoffs on Twitter.
The Consumer News and Business Channel (CNBC) recently reported that Twitter's headcount has dwindled to around 1,300 active employees, with fewer than 550 full-time key engineers remaining. About 75 of the company's 1,300 employees are on vacation, including about 40 engineers, a CNBC report said, citing internal documents.
"The message is incorrect. Twitter has about 2,300 active employees, said Elon Musk. “Hundreds of employees still work on the trust and safety team, along with several thousand contractors.” Musk also noted that less than 10 people from his other companies now work on Twitter itself - earlier there were reports that Musk was actively recruiting managers from Tesla and his other enterprises.
Musk took over Twitter in October and quickly pushed through a series of sweeping changes to the organization's products, services, and policies. The company offered the "verified by Twitter" blue checkmark as a paid service and laid off more than 50% of its employees.
