Last year, the release of the iPhone 14 in India was mastered with minimal delay relative to the Chinese sites of Apple contractors, a fact that was brought to the attention of the country's Minister of Commerce Piyush Goyal during a speech this week. He also said that Apple intends to bring the share of smartphones produced in India to a quarter of the total supply structure, although he did not specify by what date.

“Apple is another success story. They now produce about 5-7% of products in India. If I'm not mistaken, they are going to increase this share to 25%,” Piyush Goyal said literally. Note that Apple’s readiness to bring the localization of production in India to such a level by 2025 was previously reported by analysts J.P. Morgan. DigiTimes Research experts went even further, declaring that Apple is ready to increase the share of iPhones produced in India to 50% by 2027.

Last year, it was reported that Foxconn would quadruple its headcount in India over the next two years. India's Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Monday that exports of Apple products from India reached $1 billion in value in December. The assembly of Apple smartphones in India began only in 2017 at the Wistron plant, later the Foxconn plant appeared here, but 14 Apple contractors recently received permission to expand production in this country.
